This past week we had crews from City Gates Church in Canada, and Church of the Open Door in Ohio arrive to serve alongside us as we continue with our relief efforts! We’re so thankful for the teams that have been coming in from out of state to help us clean homes and love people in our community.
Through their help, along with OneLifers continuing to show up and serve, we have been able to get into over 100 flooded homes to help remove furniture and tear out drywall and flooring! There is still a lot of work to do, but we are beyond thankful for the amount that has been accomplished in just the past 3 weeks.
Along with the continued work from our clean-up crews, we have also had people continuing to go into effected neighborhoods to grill food for people, and the “Moms in Minivans” crew spent more time walking around neighborhoods offering gift cards and snacks. This awesome group of ladies have been such a huge blessing to people that are tired, overwhelmed, and hurting. The time that they’ve spent getting to know people, listening to their stories, and praying for them has been invaluable.
Through people’s generous donations, we also have been able to meet the physical needs that we are aware of in our community. If you are still interested in donating, we are still accepting financial gifts, as well as gift cards to specific places so that we can continue to help the families around us that have lost everything. Click here to read a list of needed gift cards, and here to donate financially.
We would not be nearly as effective as we have been without the people in our local and global community who have been praying, donating, sending crews, cleaning, watching kids, preparing food, and more. We’re thankful for the part each of you have played in helping the Bay Area, and excited to see how God continues to work in the midst of devastation.
